Position: Senior Tax Accountant
Hours: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable
Location: Toowoomba, QLD 4350, but will consider remote for the right candidate
Core Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual, partnership, trust & company tax returns & financials in Xero
- Preparation of BAS & IASs
- CGT, Division 7A, FBT
- Tax planning for a variety of SMEs
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have several years’ experience in public practice – our clients need to know that we’ve got their back and that we can help them dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s. We need someone who can hit the ground running and already knows the finance ropes;
- Be an excellent time manager – there’s always lots going on in a small business, so you have to be meticulously organised and good at handling more than one thing at once;
- Be a people person – we want to flip society’s expectations of what an accountant is on its head. Most accountants are good with numbers, but you’ll need to also be able to talk to humans and represent our brand with our signature fun and fabulousness;
- Take initiative and be able to work solo – we’re a small team with some big, hairy audacious goals, so you will need to have oodles of initiative and motivation to get things done, and be able to work autonomously as well as part of our awesome team;

Position: Graduate Tax Accountant
Hours: Full-time

Core Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual, partnership, trust & company tax returns & financials in Xero alongside Senior Tax Accountant
- Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and assistance in preparation of BAS & IASs
- Assistance with tax planning for a variety of SMEs

Position: Client Services Coordinator
Hours: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience ($45-55K)
Location: Toowoomba, Queensland 4350 (this role is not WFH)
Core Responsibilities:
- Office administration duties, including: phone and inbox management; welcoming and liaising with clients; filing; scheduling appointments; monitoring tax due dates
- Support our tax work, including:
– Client additions and deletions
– Typing of letters and simple reports to clients
– Dealing with client tax office correspondence
– Preparing checklists of information
– Reviewing and checking client documents; lodgements
– Fee preparation
- Liaising with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as needed
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience in a professional office environment — our clients need to know that we’ve got their back and that we can help them dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s. We need someone who can hit the ground running and already knows their way around an office or is a super fast learner.
- Be an excellent time manager — there’s always lots going on in a small business, so you have to be meticulously organised and good at handling more than one thing at once, including a sound knowledge of general administration processes and a great eye for efficiency
- Ooze a quiet confidence and be a people person — we want to flip society’s expectations of what a finance firm is on its head. You are likely to be the first point of contact, and responsible for giving our clients a seamless and memorable experience, so we would love to see your confidence and ability to develop strong client relationships from the get go
- Take initiative and be able to work solo – we’re a small team with some big, hairy audacious goals, so you will need to have oodles of initiative, great ideas and motivation to get things done, and it’s important to us that you can work well autonomously with an excellent work ethic
- Be passionate and proactive — about women in business and what we do at The Women’s Accountant, and while there are no formal qualifications required for this position, studies in Business Administration and/or bookkeeping will be highly regarded
- Tech savvy — you’ll need to be a whiz at Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn Xero / how to use the ATO portal, as well as picking up our internal systems and processes with ease; and of course you will be a super speedy typist

As the right-hand woman/man to our director, you will be the first point of call for our clients, so exceptional customer service is key.

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM.
The Role is Simple and Involves:
- Being the first point of call for our clients (meet, greet and look after);

Position: Virtual Assistant / Personal Assistant (part-time)
Hours: 6-12 hours a week
Salary: Negotiable, preferably at hourly rate
Location: Remote, work from wherever you are
Core Responsibilities:
- Schedule management
- Client relationship management (particularly the inbox)
- Sitting in on meetings and taking notes; executing follow-up actions
- Pulling together documentation for clients
- Automating systems and processes
- Social media management
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be a ‘get sh*t done’ kinda person – at The Women’s Accountant we have a ‘touch it once’ policy (get the task, deal with it, move on), and you have mastery over your to-do list with minimal supervision and support;
- Have attention to detail – accounting and finance is a detail-oriented industry, a zero in the wrong spot can make a world of difference. You dot the i’s in invoice and cross the t’s in tax time;
- Love an empty inbox – you know exactly where things are at all times, have superb email triaging and filing skills, and you keep on top of the inbox at all times so we can provide excellent service to our clients;
- Be dependable – we’re a small team juggling lots of balls, so we don’t have time to make sure you’re juggling yours. If you say you’ll do something, we can trust you to do it, or to speak up if you’re having trouble;
- Be solution-oriented and take initiative – you see opportunities to do things better and can create new systems and workflows to help things run even more smoothly;
- Tech savvy – you gotta be able to use Zoom, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Slack like a wizard.
